CASRO is the organisation offering the ‘voice and values’ of the Market Research industry in the US. Sytel joined CASRO this year, and in May 2014, visited CASRO’s Technology and Innovation Event in Chicago, not only as the next stage in bringing Sytel’s outstanding technology, customer service and support to the US MR marketplace, but also to keep an eye on new trends and developments.
The sessions we found very interesting were:
- Nick Drewe, demonstrating the massive amounts of useful data available from Social Media, if you know how to mine it.
- Steve Gutterman, on making calls to mobile phones in emerging markets in Africa. Some say that telephone interviewing is dying, but Steve very eloquently demonstrated a growing future for basic calls and SMS into this rapidly growing market.
- Rachel Geltman, on interviewing research participants live by video as they conduct their activity. We can see how in future this could generate inbound research traffic, with participants calling when ready to start, then being hooked up to video sessions with waiting agents.
Between sessions, we visited our CATI technology partners at their booths.
Long days, but well worth it!
